Ezekiel chapters 43 and 44 suggest that when Messiah returns, he will enter the Temple Mount and return with him the glory of the Lord to the Temple. That means this building needs to be rebuilt before Messiah will return. Why else would the enemy be so intent on thwarting any possibility of the Jews ever constructing the Temple described in great detail in Ezekiel chapters 40-48? |

Amazingly, after Jews around the world dreamt and prayed for 2,000 years about returning to Zion and even rebuilding their temple to the Almighty, an Israeli government is today actively shielding the Muslim powers that are trying to erase any Jewish connection to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. A couple weeks ago, the Temple Institute in Jerusalem called on all Bible-believing Christians to rise up and aid their Jewish brothers in defending the Temple Mount against the plans of Allah. I think it is time we answer that call, since the needed help is clearly not going to come from Israel’s own authorities. |

Controversial destruction work that is being carried out on the Temple Mount by the Islamic Waqf has damaged the remains of a seven metre wall that may date back to the time of the Second Temple. The remains were uncovered by a mechanical digger that is being used to create a 400 metre long trench across the compound. It is thought the wall may belong to one of the buildings in the outer court of the Temple. The Islamic Waqf have said the work is necessary to replace aging electricity cables and to lay water pipes. But the dig has been criticized by Israeli archaeologists who are concerned the use of the digger will destroy many Jewish artefacts dating back to the First and Second Temple eras. Quote: "Among the antiquities that have been damaged are a 7-meter-wide wall that apparently dates back to Second-Temple times and was likely part of the Temple courts, according to Israeli archaeologists from the nonpartisan Committee Against the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount. "This is the first time in the history of archaeological excavation in Israel that we have remains that could have been part of the courts of the Temple itself," Barkai said. He added that it was unfathomable that Israel's top archaeological body was turning a blind eye to archaeological destruction at Judaism's holiest site. "All civilized people should stand up and protest this barbaric act," he said. Members of the Committee to Prevent the Destruction of Temple Mount are considering filing a complaint with the police and petitioning the Supreme Court in order to have the work stopped. The official Muslim view is that no Jewish Temples ever stood on the Temple Mount, and so any evidence to contrary must be suppressed by the Islamic Waqf. This is why Israeli excavations near the Temple Mount are vehemently protested by Muslims across the Middle East. Evidence of a Jewish presence on the Mount would bring Islamic claims of ownership into question. The Temple Mount is mentioned many times in the Bible, but it is not mentioned once in the Qur'an. The only reference is that of the prophet Mohammed's ascension into heaven from the "farthest mosque", which Muslims interpret to be a reference to the Temple Mount. Sheikh Raed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement, who called for a Third Intifada to defend the Al Aqsa Mosque during Israeli excavations at the Mugrabi gate, is once again whipping up Islamic fervour over the holy place. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had previously stated Israel could hold joint authority over the Temple Mount. Salah is claiming that Israel wishes to divide the compound in order to build a Jewish Temple... Quote: "Salah called on Arab and Muslim nations to "prevent the division of the Al-Aqsa by Israel." In a letter to Arab kings and leaders of Muslim countries, Salah urged all Muslims to torpedo "Israel's plan that aims at dividing the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews whereas in the Jewish part it plans to build its imaginary temple." The Islamic Waqf has begun controversial destruction work on the Temple Mount that is likely to destroy many artefacts dating back to the First and Second Temple eras. The custodians of the Temple Mount began digging the 150 metre long, 1 metre deep trench across the ancient site yesterday, in order to lay water mains and electricity cables for their mosques. But the Waqf have been criticized for using a mechanical digger to construct the trench, potentially destroying artefacts dating back thousands of years. A Druze policeman attempted to bring the construction work to a halt, by entering the cab of the digger. He was thrown out during the scuffle, but jumped down into the into the trench in order to prevent more destruction. Quote: "Dr. Eilat Mazar, an archaeologist and a leading member of the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Temple Mount Antiquities, spoke with Arutz-7's Hebrew newsmagazine about the desecration. "It is an untenable situation," she said. "Underneath the Temple Mount is a closed area, one that has barely been disturbed since the Destruction of the Second Temple. Anyone can realize that remnants of both the First and Second Temples are there, and can guess what damage is being done by the tractor. The most precious findings are just rolling around there and are available to be found - and instead they have a tractor there! If I would try to work with a tractor at one of my digs, the Antiquities Authority would stop me immediately! With a tractor, it's impossible to make any type of careful examination of the earth and pieces being dug up." It's not the first time the Islamic Waqf have been criticized for their destruction work on the Temple Mount. A few months ago, dozens of Arab states warned that Israel risked inciting a Third Intifada if it continued excavation work at the Mugrabi gate. Muslims claimed that Israel was damaging the foundations of the Mosque of Omar, but it was later revealed that the real reason why such an outcry was made over the construction work is because Muslims do not want Israel to rebuild the only access ramp non-Muslims have to the historic site. The Islamic Waqf themselves are endangering the Temple Mount, as they dump hundreds of tonnes of rubble into the Kidron Valley in their construction of the underground mosque. The Muslims hope that by turning the entire site into a mosque, the Temple Mount will become permanently off-limits to Christians and Jews. Dozens of historical artefacts have been unearthed lately, confirming the veracity of the Scriptures. A seal and a ritual bath dating back to the First Temple period were unearthed in September, 2005. Not found at the Temple Mount but linked to its destruction, a cuneiform tablet uncovered in Iraq was found to have a Biblical connection, detailing a payment made by a Babylonian eunuch who was in Jerusalem at the time of the invasion... Quote: "British Museum officials announced recently the discovery of a two-inch-wide, 2,500-year-old cuneiform tablet that contains details of a financial transaction by a "Nabu-sharrussu-ukin," who is called in the tablet the "chief eunuch" of Babylon King Nebuchadnezzar. That's the same person mentioned in Jeremiah 39:3—although spelled differently in different translations—as the chief officer of Nebuchadnezzar who was in Jerusalem when the Babylonians overtook the city around 587 B.C. Artefacts from the past are a witness to us that what is recorded in the Scriptures did take place. Just as the Lord prophesied through Jeremiah of the impending invasion of Babylon, so once again the Scriptures warn us of the coming judgement of this world. Like the prophets of the Old Testament, it is our job to warn the people of what the Lord says will take place in the not too distant future. Have you heeded the warning, or like the kings of Israel, would you rather hear a different message? 1st Kings 22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, [There is] yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. Today is the 9th of Av according to the Jewish calendar, as a day of mourning and fasting for Jewish people worldwide, marking the anniversary of the destruction of the First and Second Temples. Last night, over one hundred thousand Jews gathered at the Western Wall, to pray and recite Scriptures from the book of Lamentations. The First Temple built by Solomon was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 586 BC. The Second Temple was destroyed by Titus and his Roman armies in 70 AD. That battle for Jerusalem lasted four years, and culminated in the Temple's destruction and slaughter of the Jewish people, as detailed in Flavius Josephus' account in his book War of the Jews. It's destruction was also vividly described by the Lord Jesus Christ, an event which would occur forty years following His rejection as King and crucifixion by the nation of Israel. Luke 21:6, 20-22 [As for] these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down... And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Luke 23:28-30 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. Many other disastrous events have also befallen the Jewish people on this date in history... 10 spies brought back an evil report of the promised land (Numbers 14:1). 586 BC - First Temple destroyed. 70 AD - Second Temple destroyed. 135 - Rome's takeover of Israel complete. 136 - Roman emperor desecrated Temple. 1096 - Pope Urban II declared the First Crusade, murdering masses of Jews. 1290 - Jews expelled from England. 1306 - Jews expelled from France. 1492 - Jewish expulsion from Spain completed on this date. 1648 - Chmelnicky massacred thousands of Polish Jews. 1914 - World War I began, culminating in World War II and the Nazi Holocaust. 2005 - End of legal Jewish residence in Gush Katif. But those that gather at the Western Wall also long for the day when the Temple will be rebuilt. Quote: ""It is clear that one need not refrain from going to the Western Wall [on Tisha B'Av] for fear of meeting friends and being happy. My father and teacher [Rabbi Zalman Melamed] has said that there is no greater rectification [tikun, in Hebrew] for Tisha B'Av than to go to the Wall, the remnant of the destruction, and to pray for the Holy Temple to be speedily rebuilt in our days. On the contrary, the fact that many people go there enhances the power of the prayer, and increases Divine honor." The Jews hope that "Divine honour" will be bestowed upon them by praying at the wall, yet the Lord Jesus said Israel would not see their Messiah again until they were prepared to say, "Blessed is the King that cometh in the name of the Lord", Luke 13:35. The prophecy of Daniel seems to indicate that a Third Temple will be rebuilt during the tribulation period. Daniel 9:27 states that the Antichrist, the European leader who will broker a peace agreement in the Middle East, will cause the sacrifices to cease and desecrate the Temple. Preparations are already being made in Israel for the rebuilding of the Temple. The High Priest's garments have been manufactured by the Temple Institute, along with other objects used in the administration of the Temple, such as the Golden Menorah, the Laver and the Table of Showbread. Priests are currently being trained in Israel on how to perform Temple duties, and last week we had the first public gathering of the Tribe of Levi since the destruction of the Second Temple. It is my opinion that Israel will be permitted to rebuild the Temple as part of the Antichrist's peace agreement in the Middle East. They will do so in unbelief, and once more will mourn the desecration of their Temple. Only when the nation has nowhere else to turn to, or nobody else to turn to, will they look unto Him whom they pierced - Yeshua HaMashiach. Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
