Helen's mum Enid left for Johannesburg yesterday afternoon, and will have arrived at the hospital this morning. Helen is undergoing an operation to her pelvis and hip today. I was sent an update from Echoes, who received this email from Doctor Viv Davies who is in charge of the hospital at Kalene where Helen works.

'Helen has had a specialized procedure to insert a supporting mesh in to her aorta and they seem to have been satisfied with the result.  On sat. eve. Helen had a fever and was not so well generally. She is having surgery to her hip and pelvis today (Mon) and there is also talk about plastic surgery to her facial injuries.  Her mother flew out to J'burg on Sun eve

Please continue to remember Helen in your prayers, that she may make a full recovery.

My missionary friend Helen was flown to Milpark hospital in Johannesburg yesterday. She underwent an operation to her aorta today, which had been damaged in the car accident. The doctors put a stint in. As far as I know, no operation has yet been carried out on her pelvis. Her mum is planning to travel to Johannesburg on Wednesday to see Helen. My mum has relations in Johannesburg which may be able to visit her, if the hospital is near where they live. Please continue to pray for Helen. Thanks.

My friend Helen will be airlifted to a hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa tonight to have an operation on her pelvis. As far as I know her pelvis is broken and her hip is dislocated. She will have to undergo an operation to repair it, and lie still in bed for a considerable length of time until she heals. Helen's mother is planning to travel to South Africa to be with her, and to bring her home when she is able to travel. Thank you for your prayers.
