John Reaney, a homosexual "Christian", has won a landmark case again the Church of England over claims he was unfairly discriminated against due to his sexuality. It is the first test case for the anti-discrimination legislation, called the Employment Equality Regulations, which were brought into force by the Labour government in 2003. Reaney had applied for the job of a diocesan youth officer in county Hereford, and was approved for the post by a panel which included two vicars, a National Youth advisor and Chairman of the diocesan education board. But when he was later questioned by Bishop Priddis on his promiscuous lifestyle, and his application subsequently turned down, Mr Reaney decided to take the Church of England to court for discrimination. Quote: "Mr Reaney, from Colwyn Bay, North Wales, hailed the ruling as a significant victory in equality for gay and lesbian Christians. He said: "I'm delighted that the Bishop of Hereford has lost this case. "It demonstrates to many lesbian and gay Christians working for God within the Church of England that they are entitled to fair and respectful treatment." A hearing has yet to be arranged to set his compensation. There is no upper limit on payouts. In reality, it demonstrates the depth of depravity that this nation has fallen to, and in particular the spiritual condition of the "Church" in this country. Not only has the government legalized sin and is now enforcing its acceptance on those who would naturally repudiate such a lifestyle, but those claiming to know the Scriptures are prepared to "go to law" with their brother in order to have their sins sanctioned by the Church (1st Corinthians 6:1). Have we forgotten what the Lord said, "Be ye holy for I am holy", 1st Peter 1:16? And again, "let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity", 2nd Timothy 2:19. According to the Scriptures, every true believer in Christ is a priest unto God (1st Peter 2:9). Our bodies are to be presented as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). In the book of Revelation, the Church of Pergamos was upbraided by the Lord for turning a blind eye to those in its fellowship who held to the doctrine of Balaam. Balaam attempted to defeat the nation of Israel by corrupting it through idolatry and sexual sins. The Lord's warning to Pergamos applies just as much today as it did 2000 years ago, "Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth", Revelation 2:16. 1st Peter 2:9-10 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. As Congress considers legislation to enshrine “sexual orientation” in law, homosexual rights leaders are touting their support from an unlikely quarter: religious leaders. “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded. But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. ” —Luke 17:26-30 |

Ian Paisley Junior, son of Ian Paisley, Moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland, and now Northern Ireland's First Minister, is being pressed to apologize over his controversial remarks regarding his personal beliefs on homosexuality. Ian Paisley made the comments during an interview with a magazine journalist, in which he stated, "I am pretty repulsed by gay and lesbianism. I think it is wrong... I think that those people harm themselves and - without caring about it - harm society. That doesn't mean to say that I hate them. I mean, I hate what they do". His comments were immediately condemned by Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness, the Deputy First Minister, who stated that Ian's comments contradict what his office has sworn to uphold, the rights of minorities. Now Ian Paisley is being pressed to apologize to the homosexual community for his "crass" comments, or resign his post as a junior minister. Quote: "In a hard-hitting editorial entitled "Apologise or resign", The Gazette regretted that Mr Paisley had not yet issued an apology for his remarks despite repeated calls to do so. "His comments are a complete disgrace to the Stormont administration and reflect sheer crassness," the editorial stated. "Not only should Mr Paisley apologise but, if he cannot, he should resign as a junior minister in the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister, the department which is charged with promoting equality in Northern Ireland," it added. In January of this year, the European Union and the Blair government made it a criminal offence to "discriminate" against people of a different sexual orientation. The law was opposed by many Christian organizations on the grounds that it unfairly discriminates against those who believe homosexuality is immoral. Catholic adoption agencies warned the government they would be forced to close their premises, rather than permit children to be placed with gay couples. Through this law, Christians could end up in court for turning away homosexual and lesbian couples wanting to stay in their accommodation. Christian bookshops could also be fined if homosexuals feel intimidated by literature condemning their lifestyle. And now a minister in the government is facing calls for his resignation, over comments he made about his own personal beliefs on homosexuality. If Ian Paisley has to resign because of what he believes, then what hope do the rest of us have? Of course Satan's aim through this is to stamp out Christianity completely. "You can be a Christian, as long as you don't take your beliefs too seriously or offend anybody". Makes me wonder about what men thought of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostles. The Lord Jesus offended plenty of people. I mean, they tried to stone Him on several occasions, and then He went to the cross. And look at all the beatings Paul took. As the Lord said of Paul, "I will show him how great things he must suffer for My Name's sake", Acts 9:16. I think if there was ever a time when Christians ought to stand up for the truth, it would be now. I just hope that the Lord gives me help to do that. Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. This link from my friend Akhtar. A secular humanist organization, which has been granted special status with the United Nations, is considering a proposal which may criminalize the religious upbringing of children by their parents. The Centre for Inquiry, which has been granted a consultative status as a Non-Governmental Organization, has proposed the UN debate the pros and cons of the religious education of children by their parents. Innaiah Narisetti, the chairman for the organization's India Chapter, believes that this religious instruction at an early age is tantamount to child abuse, and that the United Nations should take a firm stand on the issue. Narisetti is seeking for the rights of parents to provide religious instruction to their children to be annulled, and for state governments to take responsibility for educating children in religious instruction. Quote: ""The time has come to debate the participation of children in religious institutions," continues Narisetti. "While some might see it as a matter better left to parents, the negative influence of religion and its subsequent contribution to child abuse from religious beliefs and practices requires us to ask whether organized religion is an institution that needs limits set on how early it should have access to children." In Germany there have been a few cases where Christian home-schoolers were forcibly separated from their parents, because they chose to educate their children at home rather than attending the state school. In order to stop what the state believed was child abuse, in my mind they committed the worst child abuse act possible, separating a child from its own family. In the United Kingdom it is legal to educate children at home, largely because as far as I remember, our Queen was home-schooled. But as was stated in the last article on the EU superstate, more and more, state governments are seeking to take control of what ideologies are taught to our youth. Quote: "American homeschoolers need to be worried, according to a WND report, because the ease with which similar restrictions on free choice could be imposed in the United States. A Democrat Senate and a Democrat president could ratify U.N. treaties such as the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, or the European Convention on Human Rights, which is an offshoot of the U.S. Universal Declaration of Human Rights. That is the foundation being cited by the German government to ban homeschooling entirely, and to indoctrinate public and private school students into a sexualized, socialist society. The wisest man that ever lived said, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it", Proverbs 22:6. As Christians we recognize that, and state governments also recognize it. That is why this UN organization is seeking to remove the rights of parents to teach their children. I was saved at the age of four years old, and am glad that my parents chose to teach me in the way I should go. For not to do so, would have been child abuse. Source Life Site, WorldNetDaily |
