Egypt has signed a treaty with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), becoming the second Middle Eastern nation following Israel to sign such a pact. According to a senior NATO official, other Middle Eastern countries are expected to follow suit. The treaty was signed at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. Details on the agreement have not yet been released, but it is expected that Egypt could agree to a NATO force being stationed along the Gaza border.

Quote: "According to NATO sources, the treaty entitles Egypt the right to cooperate with the organization on issues of border control, the war on terror, the exchange of intelligence, and the stabilizing of sensitive areas. Sources pointed out that no individual agreement had been reached regarding the breached Egypt-Gaza border, but added that NATO may aid in closing the border down the road.

NATO is a transatlantic defence organization, which was set up to protect Western countries from the threat of a Soviet nuclear strike during the height of the Cold War. All NATO members consider an attack on any one member to be an attack on them all, thus providing a deterrent to the outbreak of war. As the Cold War ended following the fall of the Soviet Union, the need for NATO also diminished. It was Javier Solana, the Secretary General of NATO from 1995 to 1999, who was able to turn the organization around by changing its mode of operation, from purely that of a defence organization to one that could intervene in trouble spots anywhere in the world. Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon recently published his plans for the division of Jerusalem, which include the stationing of a NATO-like force in the region to help keep the peace. With no solution readily apparent to the situation in the Gaza Strip, and with the threat of war arising from the situation in Iran and Syria, it seems Egypt and other Middle Eastern states may be taking precautions in the event that things get out of hand. As we can see with today's news, Middle Eastern states including Israel are increasingly turning to outside help in matters of national security. We have an international peace conference in November, open talk of the division of Jerusalem, the possibility of a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities in the not too distant future, and European nations becoming more involved in the security of the region. All we need now is a man to bring it all together.

Daniel 11:31
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

While the Bush Administration pours millions of US taxpayers’ dollars into the Palestinian Authority in a vain hope that that regime will ever build and govern a viable state-like entity, the Palestinian Authority is busy celebrating the victories of America’s enemies.

As an American I know how blind our government has made the general population.  It is no surprise to me that other countries celebrate destruction against us.  But so many here are clueless as to what the world is really thinking.  Our news outlets deliberately withhold information from us that does not fit in with their own liberal agenda.  I pray that Americans will have their eyes open and their minds clear to what is going on.  I also pray that non-believers will be drawn to Yeshua and gain wisdom during these end times before it's too late.

North Koreans killed in strike on Syria PDF Print E-mail

Further revelations on the nature of the Israeli strike on a nuclear target in Syria have been published today. A former senior Mossad official Uzi Arad has stated that when the full details of the Israeli strike are published, it will "stun everyone".  The British Sunday Times newspaper reported today that Israeli commandos dressed as Syrian officers were able to seize nuclear material that originated from North Korea, and this evidence played a major part in the joint US and Israeli decision to launch a strike on a target in northern Syria. Israeli officials have stated that the target must have been of such an importance, to destroy it, knowing they risked starting a war with Syria and possibly Iran. But what is perhaps more worrying, are reports that North Korean engineers were killed in the attack.

Quote: "The Sunday Times reported that diplomats in North Korea and China believe a number of North Koreans were killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials. The officials noted that ballistic missile technicians and military scientists had been working for some time with the Syrians. According to the report, the Bush Administration was given Israeli intelligence suggesting North Korean personnel and nuclear-related material were at the Syrian site over the summer, but the administration demanded "clear evidence of nuclear-related activities before giving the operation its blessing." As a result, the newspaper said, IDF commandos "almost certainly dressed in Syrian uniforms" seized samples of the nuclear material and took them back to Israel for testing. The sources confirmed that the samples were identified as being from North Korea. According to the Sunday Times, the site - near Dayr az-Zawr - now lies in ruins following the IAF strike.

Iranians have also been involved in arming Syria. During the week, dozens of Iranian engineers were killed when a chemical warhead they were fitting to a Scud-C missile accidentally exploded. News that North Koreans are involved in Syria's missile programme is likely to worry Israel, for North Korea has a highly sophisticated missile programme and recently announced to the world that is a nuclear power. Following the success of Hizbullah during the Second Lebanese War, Islamic states now believe that they can bring Israel to its knees through a constant rain of missiles on Israeli towns. Clearly Iran and Syria hope that by improving their missiles, this time they can bring about Israel's destruction rather than just a political stalemate. So history is once again repeating itself. In the Old Testament, after the Syrians were defeated by the Israelites, they blamed their defeat on the God of Israel. They said He must be the God of the hills, but not the God of the valleys. So they changed their tactics. But God delivered Israel's enemies into their hands (1st Kings 20:28). Once again the Arab nations will find themselves fighting against the Mighty God of Jacob.

Ezekiel 39:3-5
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

Israel vows to retaliate if Syria uses chemical weapons PDF Print E-mail

This link from my friend Darrell. An Israeli politician has warned Syria that the use of chemical weapons in any future war with the Jewish state would spell the end of President Bashar Assad's regime. MK Yuval Steinitz made the comments yesterday during an interview with the Daily News. Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was harshly criticized yesterday, after being tricked by another newspaper into admitting that Israel had indeed carried out a strike within Syrian territory. He was slammed by government officials for breaking the silence, although he did not disclose any details of the raid. As one politician pointed out, we expect Ehud Olmert to keep silence on this issue, after being the first Prime Minister to have publicly admitted to Israel's possession of nuclear weapons?

Quote: "Politicians in Israel said yesterday they were not picking a fight with their neighbour, but pledged to forcefully retaliate if chemical warheads come screaming across its shared border. "We will not attack them first. But if they ever use these weapons against Israel, then we must be clear - it will be the end of this evil and brutal dictatorship," Yuval Steinitz, a right-wing member of the Israeli parliament, told the Daily News yesterday.

Yuval Steinitz comments came in response to a recent Jane's Defence report detailing a "work accident", in which dozens of Syrian and Iranian engineers were killed. Syria had been attempting to fit a chemical warhead to a Scud-C missile when the warhead exploded, spreading deadly VX nerve agent, sarin and mustard gas.

Quote: "Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported that least 15 Syrian military personnel had been "martyred" and 50 others injured in the blast near the northern city of Aleppo on the Turkish border. It claimed the early morning explosion was caused by the high temperatures. The SANA report mentioned nothing of Iranian personnel killed in the mishap. Jane's said dozens of Iranian workers were among those who died when a fire in the missile's engine triggered the explosion and release of a toxic cloud of lethal chemical agents banned under international law.

The Bible states in Isaiah 17 that a future conflict between Israel and Syria will result in the destruction of the city of Damascus. Israeli officials have stated in the past that they would consider using nuclear weapons in the event of a chemical weapons strike on Israel.

Isaiah 17:14
And behold at eveningtide trouble; [and] before the morning he [is] not. This [is] the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

Iran to give Israel "final response" on October 12th PDF Print E-mail

Link from my friend Darrell. Tensions have increased once again in the Middle East, following Israel's raid into Syrian territory earlier in the month. Both France and the United States recently expressed the opinion that the diplomatic process with Iran has been exhausted, and that the only possible solution to the nuclear crisis is to prepare for war. Following those comments, and following Israel's interception of North Korean nuclear material in Syria, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been threatening reprisals in the event of a strike on his country's nuclear facilities. State-run newspapers warned that 600 Shihab-3 missiles are already aimed at targets throughout Israel and Iraq, and would be launched following an attack on Iran or Syria.

Quote: ""Iran will shoot at Israel 600 missiles if it is attacked," the Iranian news website, Assar Iran, reported. "600 missiles will only be the first reaction." According to the report, dozens of locations throughout Iraq, which are being used by the US Army, have also been targeted. The Shihab missile has a range of 1,300 km, and can reach anywhere in Israel.

Today Iranian government officials announced that they have already drawn up a plan to bomb Israel, in the event that war does break out. General Mohammad Alavi stated that Israel was within reach of Iranian missiles and bombers, and that Israel was not strong enough to launch a counter attack. The General also boasted that Iran has the technology to counteract cruise missile attacks. Iran recently bought TOR-M1 missile systems from Russia, which are capable of tracking multiple incoming targets and can destroy cruise missiles and jet aircraft. The same government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham, also urged Palestinian Arabs to give the US and Israel their final response to the recent provocations against Iran and Syria, during the Al Quds (Jerusalem) day "celebrations". Al Quds day, in which Iranian and Palestinian Muslims lament the "Zionist occupation", falls on October 12th. It was instituted by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini, following the Iranian Islamic revolution in 1979.

Quote: ""The US loses all opportunities to cooperate with regional and other world states by trying to support a regime (the Zionist regime) which is now at its weakest political and social position," Elham said. "Supporters of the Zionist regime will definitely receive the final response for their support on Quds day."

One of Khomeini's top advisors, Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, warned that if Israel or the US strikes their nuclear facilities, Israel would immediately face the wrath of the Basij, an army with a membership of around 20 million suicide bombers and child soldiers.

I was to be in Israel on October 12th, but unfortunately the company I had booked the holiday with have been unable to get flights arranged. Even if I was going, I know that the Lord would protect me. God willing I may be going with another group of friends in November, if everything works out. The Bible states that during the war of Ezekiel 38-39, that Israel will be invaded by many Islamic nations. When this happens, the Lord will call for a sword against the enemy throughout all His holy mountains (Ezekiel 38:21). Following Israel's miraculous victory, it will take seven months for the Jewish people to bury the bodies of their enemies (Ezekiel 39:14). Israel may be a small nation, and its people may be few compared to the surrounding nations, but what Ahmadinejad and Assad forget is, the nation that touches Israel touches the apple of God's eye (Zechariah 2:8).

Isaiah 59:19-20
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
