One of Tony Blair's last acts as Prime Minister of Great Britain was to sign the new European "Constitution", effectively committing the nation to handing over yet more of its sovereignty to the European Union. The Prime Minister gave the impression that he was opposed to giving Brussels more control over British foreign policy, openly opposing the creation of the role of an EU Foreign Minister (or at least its title) and giving of the EU a permanent seat at the UN Security Council. But according to an EU official, and according to EU Constitution author Giscard d'Estaing, the main text of the "treaty" is essentially unchanged from the original draft of the Constitution. Conservative MP William Hague has lambasted the Labour government for paving the way for the creation of a federal European state, and has called on the new Prime Minister Gordon Brown to permit a public referendum on the new treaty. 

Quote: "Provisions, drawn word for word from the old constitution, giving the EU "foreign minister" speaking rights from Britain's and France's UN seats will be included in a draft treaty to be presented to a meeting of foreign ministers on Monday, diplomats have confirmed. "When the Union has defined a position on a subject which is on the United Nations Security Council agenda, those member states which sit on the Security Council shall request that the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs be asked to present the Union's position," the text states. 

As Solana-watcher Constance Cumbey states, this provision for the EU to take the seat of Britain or France at the United Nations will give Europe a much greater presence on the world stage. Students of Bible Prophecy have long predicted the rise of a final world empire in the form of a European super-state, hundreds of years before the European Union even existed. And the Bible seems to indicate that it will be from this empire that the Antichrist will eventually emerge. We don't know whether Javier Solana will be the man or not, but what we are seeing now is certainly leading up to a time when one man will be able to exercise global authority over the whole earth.

People are generally not interested in such events. They are happy as long as nothing affects how they live their lives. But soon Satan will engineer things in such a way that the whole world will cry out for a man to deliver them and give them peace. The rise in "global terrorism" - something that was virtually unheard of before the year 2000, growing religious "fundamentalism", the disruption of global weather patterns, the coming economic collapse of America, conflict in half a dozen Middle East states... these things are in the news everyday. Satan has his man waiting in the isles, but he can't make a move until we are out of here.

When Christ comes for His Church, will you be caught up to be with Him where He is, or will you be left behind to face the wrath of a righteous God? Either you are for Christ or you are against Him, there is no middle ground. The Bible states that all of those who are not saved will worship the Antichrist, and will seal their doom in the lake of fire...

Cyprus and Malta have announced they will officially adopt the Euro as their legal tender by January 1st 2008. Thirteen states of the European Union have adopted the Euro so far:- Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain. Britain opted out of the single currency when it was first proposed, over fears that adopting a weak currency would harm its economy. But the Euro has gained strength of late, with many foreign nations preferring to trade in it rather than in dollars. I don't know the exact reason why, but I think it is something to do with nations dealing in dollars having to pay an inflationary tax to the Federal Reserve Bank.

But the New World Order and the "end of cash" is not the reason why I am writing this article. What caught my eye was the image that will be printed on the Cyprus Euro - a 3000 year old cruciform idol, according to the BBC website. What is it with the European Union, that it must constantly blaspheme the God of Heaven? In Britain we have the image of our Monarch printed on the coins and notes. In the states that make up the United Kingdom, we have famous scientists, artists, inventors and other people who made a profound difference to our way of life. But in Europe, we have the heads of state, the Pope, famous bridges (apparently a New World Order connotation to that), and blasphemous images - like that of Europa riding the Beast , and this idol mocking the crucifixion of the Messiah. Then the Scriptures came to me of when the Lord talked about money.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money).

Sadly for many who do not serve the risen Lord, money is their god. And what better way to express devotion to their idols, by printing images of their gods on their money? The Bible states that their money will perish with them (James 5:1-3). The United States of America coinage has the inscription on it, "In God We Trust". I like that inscription. But as we have seen with the "Eye of Lucifer" on the back of the One Dollar note, and an inscription in Latin announcing the birth of the "New World Order", the question must be asked, in which God does the nation trust?

This link from my friend Darrell. According to the author of a new book, Europe is spending around 3.8 billion euros a year on propaganda, just to enhance its own image among young people. Lee Rotherham has written the book, "Hearts and Minds: The tax-funded PR campaign to make us love Brussels", which examines public spending on EU initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of the organization. In one example, the European Union has sent out a "Europa diary" to over 1.2 million pupils across the continent, containing statements describing the European parliament as "the people's voice". In another example, an online teaching aid for 12 year olds states that the European Union is a "really good plan that had never been tried before". The European Parliament has also funded a cartoon for kids, featuring a daring MEP called Elisa Correr, a superwoman parliamentarian, who becomes "embroiled in a risky and fascinating adventure while in pursuit of her parliamentary activities".

Quote: "Mr Rotherham said: "Much of this is outrageous propaganda cynically trying to brainwash the young into thinking the EU is an essential part of their lives. "This stuff is relentlessly positive about the EU's work, with only the tiniest, if any, mention of the counter-arguments or any dissenting voices. Brussels realises it is losing people's hearts and minds and so it is spending more and more of our money on marketing material and hordes of press officers to champion its existence."

It's not the first time the European Union has come under criticism for its relentless propaganda efforts and moral degradation. In December 2005, Austria promoted its presidency of the European Union by putting up posters of naked people involved in a sexual orgy, wearing only masks of world leaders to cover their faces (obviously they didn't want to be recognized). In another poster, a close-up picture was taken of a woman's private parts, with the EU flag emblazoned on her underwear. As I said at the time, when you have a European parliament that is shaped like the Tower of Babel, and images of Europa on the Beast adorning your coinage, literature and assembly buildings, is it really any wonder when your godless confederacy starts producing material like this? Former Labour leader Neill Kinnock (who now works in Europe) once derided the Conservative party for its reluctance to enter Europe, because they believed it was "of the devil". Personally I don't need much more evidence to prove that assertion.

As Vladimir Bukovsky states, Giscard d'Estaing reportedly made these comments well before the Maastricht Treaty was written. Maastricht brought about the creation of the European Union by linking the political and monetary systems of Europe. Former French President and freemason, Giscard d'Estaing, also ended up becoming the very person that authored the EU Constitution. Bukovsky believes the institutions that exist within the European Union are a mirror image of those of the former Soviet Union's. He points to the European Commission fulfilling the same job of the Soviet Politburo, the European Parliament's function is the same as that of the Supreme Soviet, and the massive amount of European regulations remind him of Gosplan, which regulated the Soviet economy. Bukovsky also expressed his concern over increasing European controls, with the Commission pressing state governments to pass laws on hate speech and legalize homosexuality. To sum it all up Bukovsky believes Europe is heading for a collapse, just as the Soviet Union did over a decade ago. 

The Bible states that there will be a total of seven world empires that will rule over the nation of Israel. According to Daniel's prophecy they are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and a Revived Roman Empire. All of these empires ruled over the nation of Israel. It is extremely interesting, that what we know now as the European Union, and the Jewish state, were both formed in 1948. On the March 17th 1948, the Treaty of Brussels was signed establishing the Western European Union. On May 14th 1948, Israel became a nation. In the Bible, world empires are viewed by men as objects of worship (Nebuchadnezzar's image - Daniel 2:32-33, Babylon the Great - Revelation 18), while spiritually God sees them as evil beasts that devour the earth (Daniel 7:7, Revelation 17). Daniel states that this last great empire, the Revived Roman Empire (or European Union) will devour the whole earth (Daniel 7:23). I believe Bukovsky is wrong, for I do not believe we will be able to destroy the European Union. For the prophecy of Daniel also states that this empire is to last up until the return of Christ to the earth. For Daniel says that "in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom". Praise God, that as we are now seeing the emergence of the European Union on the world stage, that means the establishment of God's kingdom upon earth must be near.
