The Council of Europe constitutes the teaching of creation a direct threat to its values, and warns it must be dealt with before it is too late. I came across this article on Sermon Audio this evening, and I was dumb-founded at what I was reading. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair recently stated that Britain needs to excel in science, if it going to compete with the emerging economies of China and India. He also stated that he would be worried if the theory of creationism became mainstream in the British school system. As I pointed out at the time, the modern sciences of medicine (Pasteur), physics (Newton) and technology (Faraday) were founded upon principles formulated by Christians, who believed in a God who created the universe in six ordinary days. I also pointed out in another article, that the secular world can never permit true science to be taught in schools, for true science points to the existence of a Being evolutionists categorically deny exists.

Well it looks like Blair was only following orders. According to this article, the Council of Europe - an unelected body of representatives from the 47 nations of the European continent - has virtually declared war on Christians and Muslims who believe in a literal 6 day creation. The article states that through the denial of evolution (pure science in the eyes of the Council), creationism could become a threat to human rights, encourages racism and extremism, and may even constitute a threat to the Council of Europe itself...

Quote: "12. The war on the theory of evolution and on its proponents most often originates in forms of religious extremism which are closely allied to extreme right-wing political movements. The creationist movements possess real political power. The fact of the matter, and this has been exposed on several occasions, is that the advocates of strict creationism are out to replace democracy by theocracy...
17. Investigation of the creationists’ growing influence shows that the arguments between creationism and evolution go well beyond intellectual debate. If we are not careful, the values that are the very essence of the Council of Europe will be under direct threat from creationist fundamentalists. It is part of the role of the Council's parliamentarians to react before it is too late.

I couldn't believe how seriously the Council of Europe is taking this. Creationists are not out to replace democracy with "theocracy", and the Council's claim that creationism threatens human rights is just plain absurd. Other spurious claims are made in the document, claiming that Darwinianism prevents racism and eugenics. 100,000 Australian aborigines, who ended up slaughtered and stuffed as museum pieces for evolutionary exhibits, would disagree. What this does show us is that fundamental Christianity is fast becoming linked with religious extremism by the political elite, and that we do not fit into this New World Order that is being set up. The Bible states that during the tribulation period, the Antichrist will work to change the laws and the times, in one last effort to stamp out God's Word. The legalization of homosexual marriage may have been the start of that, but as we can see Satan won't stop there until he has made being a Christian a criminal offence.

Daniel 7:25
And he (Antichrist) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

European Union leaders reached a compromise deal late last night, regarding the draft of the new "Constitution". The document, which has been rebranded a "reform treaty", will see several major changes in the way the EU operates. Sixteen European states have already ratified the original EU Constitution, but votes against the document from France and the Netherlands - two of first member states of the EEC, cast doubt over whether it could become legally recognized throughout Europe. Poland and the United Kingdom had serious objections to the new treaty. Poland, one of the lowest populated states in the EU, disagreed with new voting regulations which could weaken its position in Europe. Britain argued that the new post of EU Foreign Minister could threaten the independence of British foreign policy. European leaders agreed on a phased implementation of the new voting laws, and changed the title of the new EU Foreign Minister to "High Representative for Foreign Policy", lowering its status on the world stage. European leaders have until 2009 - when the next European elections take place, to ratify the new "treaty".

Quote: "The new figure would combine the positions now held by foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who reports to EU governments and does mostly crisis management, and External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, who controls the European Commission's aid budget and external relations staff. Both of their terms expire in 2009, when the reform treaty would come into force, provided EU leaders agree on other, more difficult issues such as the voting system in decision making.

The questions remains, will Javier Solana be the one to take this new post? He had already been slated to take the post, when the new EU treaty comes into effect. He isn't getting any younger, but I do believe he has made a good job of it, negotiating with Iran on behalf of the Six Nations, etc. I think EU leaders would be loathed to let him go that easily. Of course we do not know who the Antichrist is, nor do I believe we will know (2nd Thessalonians 2:6-8). At least perhaps not until that day when we, with the Lord Jesus Christ, shall return to earth after the tribulation period, and the Antichrist and False Prophet are taken and cast alive into the lake of fire.

Zechariah 14:4-5
And his (Jesus Christ's) feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye (Israel) shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

1st Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

EU summit to sneak in failed EU constitution proposals? PDF Print E-mail

Germany is very much eager to vow tomorrows EU summit a success and does all sorts of things to convince sceptic members to comply with range of proposals. But isn't it sneaking in an evil agenda at the same time?

While the UK and Poland have some meritoric issues, like the voting system (Poland) or EU's influence into foreign affairs and domestic laws (UK&PL), there is another thing that popped up just today (link in Polish only, sorry I did not find english one). Apparently, among all the paragraphs, there is one that was added to the draft at last minute. It is a part taken directly from the failed EU constitution proposal. Now try to guess what it can be ... it is a preamble! And guess what, it's not chandged at all, it still does not have a reference to God nor Christian values which Poland backed so vigorously last time this subject was brought up. It is, as agencies quote, a direct copy of the controversial EU constitution preamble questioned already some time ago. Interesting thing to ask is why so much burden in forcing this element into an ordinary treaty document, it is not the Constitution - not even close, it does not have its ranking nor importance. So why risk another clash when there are so many differences already and tomorrow's summit faces failure?  Why is preamble without reference to God, coming back like a boomerang each time there is a chance to have new EU document agreed by member states? I leave the answer to you...
