Bob Willett, CIO of Best Buy, is eager to create the new "store of the future" by making RFID chipped credit cards and Best Buy customer cards the sole source of payment. He sees this happening within the next one to two years but also points out that even though technology is already out there but is not yet cost effective. It is also interesting to note that he is promoting this as a "wonderful experience in the store". Willett envisions a scenario, within the next few years, in which customers could locate an item in the store, pay for it with a credit card at a station located in the department in which they're shopping and request the item be home-delivered or prepared for pick up at the store front—either way, without having to wait for a cashier's assistance. This could be managed, he explains, through the placement of RFID tags on items and the installation of interrogators throughout the store—to quickly identify an item's specific location—as well as at point-of-sale devices that would read credit cards or Best Buy preferred-customer cards containing embedded RFID tags. While we really don’t know what the beast’s mark will be, surely the mindset of this RFID scenario is a leap toward the prophecy in Revelation. Revelation 13:16-17 "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name". British Prime Minister Tony Blair is considering the proposal of US President Bush, in becoming the next Middle East envoy for the Quartet (EU, US, UN, Russia). EU leaders meet to discuss constitution, now with a lesser role for Solana as "Foreign Minister". As EU nations gather today to thrash out the details of the new EU "constitution", divisions between European nations seem to be hindering Javier Solana's rise to power. Under the new treaty, Javier Solana - the High Representative for the European Common, Foreign and Security Policy, was slated to become Europe's first Foreign Minister. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is pushing for as much of the constitution to be preserved as possible, but Euro-sceptic states such as Britain fearing EU meddling in their foreign affairs, it is unclear how much of a mandate Solana will get to represent EU foreign policy abroad. Quote: "The German paper proposes that the new treaty is called "The Reform Treaty", accepts that the EU will not have a "foreign minister", and provides countries with a chance to opt out of EU policies in the area of policing and criminal law. And as has already been reported, Solana's role in the Middle East may also be swallowed up by Britain, with the proposal of US President Bush to make Prime Minister Tony Blair the new Middle East peace envoy for the Quartet. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has announced that he would be supportive of Blair filling the position, and according to the BBC report, President Abbas has also expressed his approval... Quote: "The White House officials told the BBC that the talks were preliminary, and did not have any comment on Mr Blair's reaction to the suggestion. But later, the administration sources told the BBC's Jonathan Beale that both Israel and the Palestinians had signed up to the proposal. Beale said: "Most important of all Tony Blair, or aides of Mr Blair, have signed up to this. "It looks like this is going to be Tony Blair's next job and it looks like Tony Blair wants this job... that is the message I am getting from officials in Washington." I wrote to the Prime Minister several years ago, during a time of violence between Israel and the Palestinians, asking him to press for peace in the Middle East. I also begged him not to make Britain a partaker of those nations that will divide God's land, and explained to him the reason why these things are happening according to Scripture. I also explained the Gospel to him. Whether he read the email or not, I don't know. Of course one thing that will go against the Prime Minister filling this role will be the US-UK "war on terror". The Arabs may not see Blair as a truly independent negotiator, having pressed for the war in Iraq. According to Daniel's prophecy, we believe it will be a leader of the EU that will strengthen a peace agreement in the Middle East. And perhaps the EU, which is still seen by Israelis and Palestinians as having a balanced approach to the region, may still be the one to make that "peace". Whether that will be Solana or not, remains to be seen. Isaiah 40:1-2 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins. "ISTANBUL, June 20 (Compass Direct News) -- Christian families fled a Pakistani village in Punjab province this week after an armed mob injured Protestants preparing for an evangelistic meeting, the victims’ lawyer said. Seven Christians were injured when at least 41 Muslim men armed with guns, axes and wooden sticks attacked a Salvation Army church in Chak 248 north of Faisalabad on Sunday night (June 17), lawyer Khalil Tahir Sindhu said.
The Christians’ refusal to give in to demands that they cancel the evangelistic meeting prompted the attack, Sindhu said." For the complete story click here |

Germany is very much eager to vow tomorrows EU summit a success and does all sorts of things to convince sceptic members to comply with range of proposals. But isn't it sneaking in an evil agenda at the same time? While the UK and Poland have some meritoric issues, like the voting system (Poland) or EU's influence into foreign affairs and domestic laws (UK&PL), there is another thing that popped up just today (link in Polish only, sorry I did not find english one). Apparently, among all the paragraphs, there is one that was added to the draft at last minute. It is a part taken directly from the failed EU constitution proposal. Now try to guess what it can be ... it is a preamble! And guess what, it's not chandged at all, it still does not have a reference to God nor Christian values which Poland backed so vigorously last time this subject was brought up. It is, as agencies quote, a direct copy of the controversial EU constitution preamble questioned already some time ago. Interesting thing to ask is why so much burden in forcing this element into an ordinary treaty document, it is not the Constitution - not even close, it does not have its ranking nor importance. So why risk another clash when there are so many differences already and tomorrow's summit faces failure? Why is preamble without reference to God, coming back like a boomerang each time there is a chance to have new EU document agreed by member states? I leave the answer to you... |
