During these end times I ask that all of us keep our children in our thoughts and prayers. My daughter, Katie, who is almost 6 years old has been dealing with her first experience of persecution. “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.”
—Matthew 24:9 Many people think that persecution only deals with death and/or torture for believers. But, in reality persecution is any negative act against a believer because of their belifs in Yeshua. My daughter, even for her age, is very spiritual. She loves learning about the Bible and anything there is to know about Yeshua. She has learned and recites on almost a daily basis the Aaronic (Priestly) Blessing and the Lord's Prayer. Aaronic (Priestly) Blessing: The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord shine His face upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive our debtors. And, lead us not into temptation. But, deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory. For ever and ever. There are some children that live near my parents and almost every weekend my daughter visits with my parents. Katie used to play with the neighborhood kids everytime she was visiting. But lately, these children refuse to play with her. One day she came into my parents house crying. We asked her what was wrong and after some convincing she opened up. Her exact words were; "I don't understand, why don't the kids love Jesus?" We asked what she ment by what she said. Katie went on to tell us that she was singing some songs that she learned at the Messianic Congregation that we go to and that the kids were making fun of her. She then said that she asked all the kids if any of them know about Jesus. It broke her heart to hear other children, who are all from the ages of 5 - 8, say that they don't belive in Jesus and that they don't want anything to do with Him or God. The children also told her that she is weird because all she does is sing and talk about Jesus. It broke our hearts also to hear this because children are so very precious to Yeshua and to our Heavenly Father. But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." - Luke 18:16-17 It took some time to explain to Katie, only being 6, why the other children may have responded like they did. And for her young age she looked at us, wiped the tears from her eyes and said; "Well, then we need to do something about this. It's not right that people don't like Jesus. And, it's not right that people don't like me because of Jesus." She then got up, went out side and before we knew it she was outside "preaching" to the other children. I thought I would let others know about this story because it shows that us adults are not the only ones being affected by what is going on in the world today. Our children are also involved. There are so many children today that are not being raised in the Biblical fashion that God commanded. But, if we, as believers, raise our children the way our Heavenly Father commanded us to do; maybe it will be our children who will help save those that may not listen to us. |
