When the Lord is for us, who can be against us. Our Lord our helper is beside us and He is like the light house to those who are lost. Come and make your shelter with Jesus Christ as Your master and Lord forever.

Palestinian sources have revealed that US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pushing for a document to be drafted by Israel and the Palestinian Authority that will show what progress has been made on the Middle East peace process to date. Rice is hoping to present the document, which will outline progress made since the Annapolis peace conference last November, to the United Nations General Assembly in September. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had originally committed themselves to the establishment of a Palestinian state before US President Bush's term ends in January. There has been some notable progress made towards achieving that goal. There have been several international gatherings over the past year aimed at financing the establishment of a Palestinian state, building the Palestinian economy and strengthening Palestinian institutions and security. And thanks to Quartet Special Envoy Tony Blair, the Palestinian Authority has been handed security control of several West Bank towns, namely Jenin and Shechem. The creation of the first union of Mediterranean countries since the fall of the Roman Empire has brought the prospect of Middle East peace ever closer. But the main sticking points of borders and the status of Jerusalem have prevented major progress being made on the establishment of a Palestinian state by the end of the year.

The document would include agreed-on points particularly on borders, an issue where, according to an American diplomat, the gap is not significant. According to Palestinian sources, the gap regarding a right of return for Palestinian refugees has also narrowed. The United States is pressing for an agreement by which Palestinian refugees will have the right of return to what were the Palestinian territories before 1967, except for a yet-unclear small number of family reunifications. The PA says the U.S. will not take a dramatic step of a "Camp David" nature before the end of President George W. Bush's term in office.

It was originally hoped that a Palestinian state would be established by November 2008. That goal was later revised to reaching an agreement by the end of US President Bush's term. Now the Israeli government says even that aim is over-ambitious, and they are hoping instead to announce the commencement of yet more talks at the upcoming Moscow conference. So where are we now in Bible prophecy? Despite the seeming delay in the establishment of a Palestinian state, I would say we are still on course for the beginning of Daniel's seventieth week. What year that will begin, I don't know. But we are still on course. For the Scriptures state that it will be the Antichrist who will divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39), and that Judea and east Jerusalem are to fall into the hands of the Gentiles for a period of three and a half years (Zechariah 12:2, Revelation 11:2). So we should not be expecting a Palestinian state to be established by the end of this year, but we should be expecting some sort of agreement to be made. If not by the end of this year, then perhaps in the not too distant future.

One of my favourite songs is sung by Mary McKee and the Genesis, and it is called "Signs of the Times". The lyrics are as follows.

I think that song has a lot of truth to it. The signs of the times are showing very clear, and my witness as a Christian has not been very clear. I need to get my life in order. If Jesus Christ came today, would I have anything in my life that I would be ashamed of? Am I expecting His coming at any moment? Am I living in the light of it? I should be. I hope and pray that you will be ready also. If you are not a Christian, now is the time to get right with God. Jesus Christ is coming back, to take His waiting people home, and to judge this world for its wickedness. Forget about trying to live a good life, you will never meet God's requirements (Romans 3:23). And forget about God letting you into heaven if your good deeds outweigh your bad ones. Jesus Christ has already declared that if we die in our sins, we can never be in heaven (John 8:21). You need to have your sins forgiven. Jesus Christ bore God's punishment for your sins when He died upon the cross (Isaiah 53:6). All who believe on Him for salvation can have their sins forgiven and have eternal life in heaven. Why wait until tomorrow? You may not have another opportunity to be saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today.

Dr Edgar Mitchell, former US astronaut and the sixth man to walk on the moon, has claimed that aliens do exist and that planet Earth is being visited by extra-terrestrial beings. He made the comments during an interview for Kerrang radio in the United Kingdom. Mitchell said that the Roswell incident, in which alien life forms were supposed to have been recovered from a downed spacecraft, was a real event, and was being covered up by the US government. He also claimed that the actual physiological appearance of these aliens are similar to those of the classic "little green men" usually portrayed in the films. He said that the aliens had technology that was much more advanced than our own, and that if the aliens had been hostile, the human race would have been gone long ago. His claims follow an increasing public awareness of the UFO phenomenon following the recent disclosure of information held by the British government. NASA released an official statement saying that the organization does not track UFOs and that there is no conspiracy to withhold such information from the public.

Quote: "Dr Mitchell said his position as an astronaut meant many high ranking intelligence and military personal had felt comfortable telling him their stories and "getting it off their chests" before they died. "(They) selected me and said, independently – this wasn't a group effort – independently that maybe I might be a safe person to tell their story to," he said. "And all of them confirmed, and what I'm saying is they confirmed the Roswell incident was a real incident and they in some way had some part in it that they wanted to talk about. "The crash of an alien spacecraft in the Roswell area was a real event and much of the lore, I can't say all of the lore, but much of the fact that dead bodies were recovered and live ones were recovered, that they were not of this world, was the story.”

Mitchell's background of having been involved in the US space programme would, on the surface, appear to add some weight to his beliefs. But it's Mitchell's involvement in the paranormal and the occult which seem to lie at the heart of this latest development. In his book, entitled, The Way of the Explorer, Mitchell recounts how he was involved in a private extra-sensory perception (telepathy) experiment during his return flight to earth from the moon.

Quote: "Mitchell tells how, while returning to earth, he carried out a private ESP experiment that seemed to yield positive results. Subsequently, he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences, in order to test paranormal phenomena scientifically. We hear of Uri Geller's ability to bend spoons at a distance and of how Mitchell's own mother had her eyesight restored by American psychic Norbu Chen--until she realized that Chen was not a Christian and her near-blindness returned.

Mitchell himself also claims to have been cured of kidney cancer through a faith healer by the name of Adam Dreamhealer. Adam claims to be able to heal people from a distance through thought alone. The logo on Adam's website is extremely interesting, sporting the occult symbols of the Egyptian Eye of Ra and the Pyramid. Adam espouses New Age beliefs similar to those found in Buddhism and other eastern religions. Mitchell has also authored another book on the paranormal, entitled, Psychic Exploration: A Challenge for Science. The front cover states...

As you can see, wherever there is an acceptance of UFOs and extra-terrestrial intelligence, you will also find a close correlation to the occult and the New Age movement. It's all tied together because it all comes from the same source. That is why as Christians we need to be so careful when it comes to things like the Florida Outpouring. Spiritualist healing is real and has been practiced by eastern religions for thousands of years, and it can be practiced by people of any or no faith. When New Age and eastern philosophies start creeping into the Church, such as angels (spirit guides), healings, tongues, holy laughter, convulsions, slaying and drunkenness in the spirit (shaktipat and kundalini), we ought to be asking ourselves again and again, is this of God or is this of another spirit? And if it is not mentioned in the Bible, then we ought to start looking elsewhere to find out where this is coming from. Sad to say that many people, including members of my own family, are not discerning enough to do that. The Bible prophesied that in the last days, many Christians would give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons (1st Timothy 4:1). I believe we are now living in those days. Satan's master plan is coming together. I believe that Satan wants the nations of the world move towards 'full disclosure' on the UFO phenomenon in order to prepare the world for the event of the rapture of the Church. The counterfeit church is being set up to take its place. If Jesus Christ came for His Church tonight, would you go with Him? Or would you be left behind to face the wrath of Almighty God? The Truth IS out there, and He is coming back soon. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation today.

Last night something amazing happened. You've heard of coincidences. Well this was a God-incidence. Yesterday morning, my mum had phoned her friend to ask how she was. This woman's daughter was having computer problems. When she realized it was my mum who was on the phone, she shouted out, "Divine intervention!", because I enjoy solving people's computer problems and I happened to be just the person she needed at that moment in time. I said to my mum that I was the one who needed "Divine intervention" regarding my own situation at the present.

Well later in the day, my friend Helen and I drove down to Newcastle for the special gospel meetings they are having there. We went out for lunch and then went on to the meeting. After the meeting was finished, we drove down to the town where they usually have the open-air meeting. My uncle Desi was directing the traffic going out of the field where the tent is located. I waved to him on the way out. He said later that he had tried to wave me down to get me to stop the car, but I hadn't noticed him. We drove through the town looking for a place to park. I decided to try this car park next to the town hall that my friends had tried earlier in the day when we went to lunch. Normally I wouldn't have gone into this car park. But the car park was full. As we turned to go out, a man waved me down and told me my rear tyre was flat. I thanked him and went to drive on, as I thought I would pump it up when I got parked somewhere. But he stopped me and said I wasn't going to be able to drive anywhere on it, as it was deflated to the point where I was driving on the rim of the wheel. Neither Helen or I had even noticed the flat tyre when we were driving. I got out of the car and opened the boot to get my pump out to start pumping up the flat tyre. The man said I was wasting my time pumping it up as it was probably wrecked inside, and asked if I had a spare tyre and a jack. I said I had a spare tyre, but no jack. We both looked in the boot but couldn't find it. It later turned out that the jack was hidden in a secret compartment in the boot. We were completely stuck. I started to panic and rummage around looking for a jack that I knew wasn't there. At that instant a police car turned into our full carpark. This kind man flagged them down and told the police officers the situation. The police man and woman stepped out of the car. The police man pulled a toolkit out of the boot of his car, and a pneumatic jack. The police woman said normally they wouldn't have this type of jack with them, because there is only one of these per police station. This man and the police officer proceeded to take off the flat tyre and put on the spare, something which I could not have done myself. They asked me where I came from and why I was in Newcastle. And I told them I was from Bangor, which is around 40 miles away, and that I was down for the tent meetings. The police woman later said they had only stopped in the car park to get a chip across the road.

I was completely amazed, and humbled, at everything that had happened... me choosing that particular car park, the man stopping me at that precise moment, the police coming in at that instant and having a jack they wouldn't normally carry around with them. Had that flat tyre not been discovered, there is no telling what could have happened on those narrow country roads. I didn't deserve a miracle, but the Lord has preserved me. I ought to trust Him more.

We who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Master and Saviour are part of the new covenant in the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ cleanses us from all our iniquities and we stand blameless in front of God our Father. Let us thank God for the new covenant in Christ.
